WASHINGTON, DC (Sep. 10, 2015) – National Black Growers Council (NBGC) Board Member, Dexter Gilbert of Campbellton, FL was recently profiled in the September issue of the National Peanut Board’s Blog. The second installment of the Voices of Peanut Farming focus is entitled, The Younger Generation. Mr. Gilbert reflects on his multi-generational operation, which is now being run by him, his father and nephew.
Mr. Gilbert also currently is participating on the Peanut Board’s Class IX Leadership Academy. The mission of the Academy is to provide intensive training opportunities, develop and improve leadership skills and industry understanding for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia peanut growers. Activities are structured to give participants a thorough understanding of the U.S. peanut industry.
