An African-American family has established a farming dynasty in Alabama. The trade war is just the latest challenge.
The farm was started in the 1870s by George Bridgeforth, Greg’s great-grandfather, who had been born into slavery. The family has survived droughts, tornadoes and the bool weevil during the century and a half that successive generations have been farming.
